Overview

Glaucoma is optic neuropathy with visual field loss, usually from high IOP (open/closed angle).

Symptoms

  • Often asymptomatic
  • Tunnel vision (late)
  • Halos
  • Acute pain (angle closure)

Diagnosis

  • IOP >21
  • Gonioscopy
  • OCT RNFL
  • Visual field

Treatments

  • Prostaglandin analogs
  • SLP/trabeculectomy
  • MIGS

Risk Factors

⚠️African descent
⚠️Myopia
