Medullary thyroid carcinoma arises from C-cells, produces calcitonin.

Symptoms

  • Neck mass
  • Diarrhea (calcitonin)
  • Flushing

  • CEA
  • RET genetic testing
  • Biopsy

Treatments

  • Total thyroidectomy + lymph node dissection
  • Tyrosine kinase inhibitors
